Course Outline:

• Understand legal and ACOP requirements for Confined Space Rescue Plan (CSRP) and standby Confined Space Rescue Team (CSRT)
• Understand the duties and responsibilities of all personnel involved in confined space work and especially the roles of the CSRT
• Understand harmful physiological effects of oxygen deficiency and toxic substance exposure in human
• Understand confined space life safety objectives and casualty survivability vs time elapsed before rescue/ extraction from hazard area and emergency life preserving ventilation
• Understand the types of confined space rescuer PPE, rope rescue equipment and mechanical advantage systems
• Understand the different confined space technical rope rescue techniques, self-rescue, non-entry and entry rescue strategies and tactics
• Perform anchorage, body harness and connections (ABC) inspections, maintenance and correct set up of confined space rope rescue equipment and systems
• Perform correct tying and hitching of rescue knots and lines
• Perform effective confined space technical rope rescue techniques, top and side portal non-entry and entry rescue strategies and tactics
• Perform confined space entry and exit through restricted or special access openings while donning Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Perform proper casualty packaging and confined space evacuation methods, first aid and patient management

Certification:

• Participants will be awarded an e-Certificate of Participation upon course completion
